MEASURE BEFORE YOU MAKE
Three measurements. One printable region.
Get accurate outside diameters, circumferences and printable height before generating a blank cup wrap.
01
Mark the printable boundaries
Choose the upper and lower edges of your wrap on the outside of the cup. Stay below the lip and above the rounded base. Both boundaries must sit on the same straight-sided part of the cup. A cup that changes slope needs separate regions, not one full-body template.
02
Choose diameter or circumference
For diameter, use calipers across the outside of the cup at each boundary. Keep the jaws level and avoid squeezing. For circumference, wrap a non-stretch tape around each boundary without a gap. Enter either method directly in the generator; circumference equals diameter multiplied by π.
03
Vertical height and sidewall height are different
Vertical height is the straight up-and-down distance between the boundary planes. Sidewall height follows the sloped surface from one boundary to the other. Choose the matching height mode. The generator converts between them when you switch, preserving the cup geometry.
04
Use an example to check your inputs
Try a 90 mm top diameter, 70 mm bottom diameter and 180 mm vertical height. The sidewall is about 180.28 mm long, with full-circle edge lengths of 282.74 mm and 219.91 mm before seam adjustments. These are illustrative numbers, not a verified 20 oz model. Replace all three with your own measurements.
05
Make a first paper proof
Start with no overlap or gap so the fit is easy to judge. Set a smaller coverage for a mug handle, print at actual size and gently test the outline. Save the measurements only after checking your own cup. See the printing and troubleshooting guides below.
